Square Enix shared more on updates recently, Rise of a New Sun, a new update for Final Fantasy XIV. Thanks to Square Enix, the patch 4.2 Rise of a New Sun will be released. The patch is scheduled to release by the end of January. The next Letter from the Producer Live broadcast, which will further detail the content coming in Patch 4.2, will air on Friday, January 19th. You can go to website to preview more screenshots and watch more videos.
We’ll find out the release date for the content this week. I expect the reveal will be a part of Friday’s Letter from the Producer Live. A new map set atop the crystal tower is also being set up. It’s a bit more cuddly than the others – with Moogle and Chocobo statues around the outside, but the layout seems cool. Thanks to the Warrior of Light’s heroic deeds and Raubahn’s long-awaited return, Ala Mhigo continues its steady march towards recovery.
As for the glamour system, there are screens showing what the Glamour Dresser furniture item will look like, as well as a better look at the interface itself. It does look good, and it’s a great foundation that SE can build on, it’s not the most comprehensive system in the world, nor is it automatic, but it will empty an entire retainer’s worth of glamour items and group all of them in one place. In addition, we get to see the new map for The Feast mode Crystal Tower Training Grounds. A new team system lets you form a party of six, select an insignia and compete against other teams in new ranked matches. New PvP gear will be available, and it can even be dyed. Battles have been made shorter, and now include a new Light Medal effect that reduces damage taken as the burden of medals is lowered.
